Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Recruitment Assistant for our client, a local government organisation based in Southampton.

The successful post holder will be working as part of a fast paced team they will be responsible for administration support throughout the recruitment and on boarding process.

This role is a temporary contract with an initial period of 3 months, with the possibility to extend. This role hybrid working 1-2 days in office per week. Whilst training additional office days maybe required.

Duties and Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Deliver a comprehensive customer-focused recruitment service including the use of an e-recruitment platform.
  • Process payroll input for new starters
  • Handle all recruitment queries from recruiting managers and ensure they have the information they need in a timely and accurate manner.
  • To support the recruitment and selection process for schools or other such partner agencies.
  • To support recruiting managers with the preparation of recruitment documentation including adverts and candidate packs.
  • To ensure the recruitment process meets its deadlines and complies with all relevant statutory requirements and policy and practice.
  • To handle all recruitment queries from candidates in a professional and timely manner.
  • To record and maintain all relevant documentation and records related to recruitment activity.
  • To provide Management Information on activity/trends on all recruitment.
  • To provide a list of internal vacancies to any redeployees on a weekly basis.
  • To manage all pre-employment checks.
  • To process all new starter documentation in time for payroll input.
  • To ensure all new starters are provided with the information they need for their first day.
  • To keep up to date vacancy information and to update agencies, job sites and internet sites as required.
  • To support assessment activity as part of recruitment processes.
  • To liaise with resourcing partners and other agencies and organisations to ensure an effective recruitment process, including briefing agencies and agreeing adverts and campaigns.
  • To provide general support to HR &OD projects and casework activity.

Personal Requirements:

  • Previous recruitment experience is preferred whether this be as part of a broader HR role, in-house recruitment function or agency.
  • Strong administration, organisation and communication skills are a must.
  • GCSE English language and Maths – Grade 4 or above
  • Certificate in HR Admin or equivalent work experience (recruitment activity/administration in dealing with customers).
  • To understand the importance of pre- employment checks supported by practical experience.
  • Experience of delivering an excellent customer service in a high volume environment (recruitment experience would be an advantage).
  • Understanding of recruitment and selection processes/business administration and good practice in a large organisation.
  • A high level of attention to detail and ability to meet multiple recruitment/ payroll deadlines.
  • Understanding of the application of statutory legislation related to recruitment.
  • Experience of using e- Systems and experience of using social media and internet platforms for recruitment or similar activity.
  • Experience of providing telephone and email support to recruiting managers.
  • An understanding of equality issues in the workplace.
  • Have experience of using e Systems to run basic management reports is Desirable.
  • Have experience of providing face to face support to both in- house managers and those of our partners (ie schools) is Desirable.

Working Hours: 5 days per week / Monday – Friday

Pay: £18.85 per hr
