Positive Employment is currently recruiting for a Special Education Needs Practitioner for our client based in North London area.

The successful post holder will provide high quality integrated day care and early education to children from birth to 7 years within a multi-disciplinary team and in line with the requirements of the EYFS. The post holder will be required to work shift patterns, falling between 8am and 6pm.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Plan and support delivery of a high quality early years curriculum, which includes a full commitment to anti-discriminatory practice, and creating individual learning action plans.
  • Promote children’s development within a secure, safe and stimulating environment, and with reference to good practice curriculum guidance appropriate to the ages and stages of development of the children
  • Provide appropriate physical care in areas of washing, toileting, changing, feeding, dressing, comforting and administering medication.
  • Assist with the organisation of outings for children’s interest, education and enjoyment and with regard to safety.
  • Support colleagues in undertaking their responsibilities as key worker to a specific group of children within the centre and the smooth transition from home to centre and from centre to school.
  • Effectively manage the behaviour of the children in line with procedural guidance and to implement planned interventions for children with additional needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (Essential)
  • Work references covering last 5 years with no gaps (Essential)
  • Previous SEN experience working within a nursery/school setting (Essential)
  • Relevant qualification; NVQ Level 2 and Up in Early Years/Childcare/Teaching Assistant (Essential)
  • Previous experience working with kids with disabilities (Essential)
  • Must be able to work between the hours of 8am and 6pm, as required (Essential)

WORKING HOURS AND RATE:

  • Mon – Thur 09:00am – 14:30pm, Fridays 09:00am – 14:00pm
  • Rate: £16.06 umbrella
