Positive Employment is currently recruiting for Employer Engagement Officer for our client based in Redbridge and surrounding area.

The successful post holder will support the delivery of the Client’s strategic approach to apprenticeships and employer engagement, with a particular focus on securing employment benefits through S106 and Social Value. Leading on employer engagement and development of relationships with the local business community, employers, developers, contractors, and other stakeholders, and help support residents to access these employment opportunities.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Establish and maintain strong working relationships with levy paying businesses, small businesses, local colleges, schools, and residents.
Promote the value of apprenticeships as a viable alternative career pathway for young people and engage with schools, parents, and businesses to ensure promotion is effective.
Develop an understanding of the apprenticeships levy and offer locally and nationally (including pre-apprenticeship programmes and degree apprenticeships)
Provide IAG support to young people interested in apprenticeships, in particular brokerage between young people and employers.
Review and evaluate economic benefits secured through S106 and Social Value and ensure relevant support is available to contractors and residents to deliver or access these opportunities.
Establish and manage effective relationships and partnerships with training providers, employers, developers, local, sub-regional and regional organisations to develop effective resources that support delivery of economic benefits.
Create and maintain economic benefits modelling/calculator to support commitments to and negotiation of economic benefits.
Evaluate tender submissions on behalf of procurement/contract managers in relation to economic social value benefits.
Support and where appropriate lead the preparation of internal/external applications for funding in support of economic development programmes and projects.
Provide high quality web-based content and support web and social media-based communications
Provide information and advice on the end-to-end recruitment service to employers including developing job descriptions/person specifications, promoting vacancies, screening CV’s and conducting first round interviews
Deliver a job brokerage/matching service, souring suitable clients for identified vacancies in line with key requirements of the job description.
Ensure effective management of CRM database and provide produce data/ monitoring reports
Engage with employers including face to face, attending targeted events and networking groups to maximise engagement with employers.

Requirements:

Degree level in relevant subject or demonstrable relevant experience
An Excellent understanding and knowledge of the Economic Development agenda, particularly in respect of employment & skills provision and apprenticeships.
Knowledge and understanding of S106 and Social Value and experience of securing economic benefits through planning or procurement procedures.
Knowledge of project management principles
Knowledge of economic analysis and ability to interpret and analyse data management
Ability to support the preparation of funding bids and leverage external funding through public/private partnerships.
Significant experience and knowledge of good community and stakeholder engagement practices.
Excellent IT skills and the ability to create high quality web content
Experience of working within Local Government

Working hours: 09:00 am – 17:00pm, Monday to Friday
Rate: £163.46 umbrella

This is a Temporary role but could possibly become permanent
